The president of SWR Inc. has died. Thomas L. Edmiston was 77.
According to biographical information from the company, Edmiston was a Korean War veteran who later started a tower rigging business with his father-in-law George Kim. It eventually became Thomas Edmiston and Sons, of which he had five.
In 1989 he sold his shares to son Charles; the company was renamed Edmiston Tower Erectors. Thomas became president of Systems With Reliability Inc., which the family purchased from Jack Kruger that same year.
SWR makes FM and TV antennas, rigid transmission line and components; it is based in Ebensburg, Pa.
