Cumulus Media has chosen Brian Thomas as the new program director for Chicago CHR station WLS(FM). He will continue to serve the company as corporate PD for the country format, and will also oversee classic hits stations.
Thomas moves to Chicago from Cumulus New York, where he joined Cumulus last year as corporate program director and PD for WNSH(FM).
Prior to joining Cumulus, he was with CBS Radio as national vice president of classic hits programming. He was also PD of country-formatted WQYK(FM) and classic hits WRBQ(FM), and VP of programming for CBS Radio in Tampa, Fla.
“Every kid from Chicago who grew up listening to WLS, as I did, dreams of working there,” said Thomas.
