Thompson Comes to the Radio

... as Bill O'Reilly departs

“The Fred Thompson Show” debuts on Westwood One in March. The show will air two hours a day, live noon to 2 p.m. Eastern time on weekdays, and be based in Washington.

“Former U.S. senator and 2008 presidential candidate, Fred Thompson will share his views on politics, topical issues, pop culture and water cooler stories, as well as welcome guest interviews and take listener calls,” the syndicator stated.

The lawyer, politician and actor has filled in for Paul Harvey on the ABC Network and done his own “Fred Thompson Reports” commentaries and broadcasts. He first gained national attention as minority counsel to the Senate Watergate Committee where he led questioning that revealed the Nixon White House audio-taping system.

He will replace Bill O’Reilly, whose “The Radio Factor” concludes its six-year life on Feb. 27.
