Codec maker Tieline Technology said its Report-IT codec/recorder iPhone app has been downloaded more than 1,000 times. The company views that as a “significant milestone.”
Tieline Technology International Marketing Manager Darren Levy said Report-IT Live for iPhone is being used by many major broadcast networks. He said Tieline is “convinced a paradigm shift in radio broadcasting is occurring.”
Levy said the Enterprise Edition of Report-IT Live is popular in part because networks can do interviews more easily. “Producers and reporters can get anyone with an iPhone to download Report-IT Live Enterprise Edition free from the iTunes App Store, open the application and at the touch of a button be interviewed live from the studio.”
Audio can be sent live at 15 kHz, or transferred via FTP at 20 kHz bandwidth.
Tieline thinks the pending release of the Verizon iPhone 4 will give users more wireless network coverage and choices.
