Why should celebrities have all the fun?
TMZ, the multiplatform operation behind many a celebrity “news” story, is turning its attention to sports (not that there isn’t some crossover with celebrity), with “TMZ Sports.”
“TMZ Sports” is a daily one-hour program syndicated by Premiere Networks. It debuted this week around half-a-dozen stations. Initial marketing is at news/talk and sports stations.
TMZ Executive Producer Harvey Levin cut to the chase: “The show is going to attract people who love sports so they can learn more about the athletes they follow. It will also attract lots of people who don’t follow sports but like watching the drama and the fun.”
The show is available to stations in the evening, after 7 p.m. ET. It is also available to the public on iHeartRadio and its mobile app.
