Tom King, Ray Conover to Receive Engineering Awards at NAB Show

Kintronic president to receive Engineering Achievement Award, Conover acknowledged with Service to Broadcast Award

2015 NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award Recipient Tom King

Kintronic Labs President Tom King will be the recipient of the 2015 NAB Radio Engineering Achievement Award. Ray Conover, a senior engineering consultant for Hubbard Broadcasting, will receive the 2015 NAB Service to Broadcasting Award. The awards will be presented at NAB Show Technology Luncheon, April 15, in Las Vegas.

King is the son of a previous Radio Engineering Achievement Award winner, Kintronic Labs Founder Louis I. King, a 2007 recipient. The announcement release cited, “Seeking ways to help broadcasters locate AM antenna systems in restricted zoning areas, King worked with the Star-H Corporation in the joint development of the Kinstar AM low-profile, high-efficiency, wideband antenna – the first of its kind accepted by the FCC for full-time omnidirectional operation.” King has also been a strong advocate for AM broadcasting.

Ray Conover has had a foot in radio and in TV engineering. He is known work with satellite communications with Conus Communications and with his time as served as chairman of the Consumer Electronics Association antenna committee that “documented standards for the performance, test and measurement of TV receive antennas.”

The 2015 Television Engineering Achievement Award winner was also — Fox Networks Engineering and Operations Executive Vice President and General Manager Richard Friedel.
