Burk Technology is on a hiring spurt.
The company that develops broadcast facility management and control systems recently named Matt Leland as its director of sales and has now added former Buckley Broadcasting and WOR(AM) DOE Tom Ray to its sales team.
During his 15 years tenure WOR(AM), New York, Ray rebuilt the facility from microphones to towers and made WOR the first high-power AM HD radio station in the country. Ray wrote “HD Radio Implementation,” published by Focal Press. A Radio World contributor, he has published several papers for the NAB’s Broadcast Engineering Conference, has been on the SBE board and was chairman of SBE Chapter 15 in New York City for nine years.
Currently, Ray owns Tom Ray Broadcast Consulting in New Windsor, N.Y., and has extensive experience with Burk’s products.
Leland says Ray will draw on that experience to help customers in specifying the best system configurations to meet their needs. “Having been a director of engineering for large market radio, he knows what customers need and understands that engineers have to achieve complex goals often within limited budgets. Given his first-hand experience and personal drive, we are confident that he will be an invaluable asset to his customers.”
