Tonmeistertagung Takes Shape

Top experts from the United States and Japan will contribute to the "Surround in Practice" session at the Tonmeistertagung 2008.

The 25th edition of the biennial congress and exhibition event, taking place at the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) venue in Leipzig, Germany, 13–16 November, will also focus on issues such as sound design, audio meets video, games and audio for interactive media.

Hosted by the Verband Deutscher Tonmeister (VDT), the Tonmeistertagung will include a feature on "Audio Networks," which will also be the subject of a VDT seminar in Munich, Germany in July. An "Event and Stage" subject area will offer live sound workshops.

Companies contributing to the workshop program include Sennheiser, Neutrik and Klotz AIS.

A full convention program in both English and German will be available on the Tonmeister Web site as of August. According to VDT, by June, CCL exhibition space at Tonmeistertagung 2008 was almost completely sold out.
