Internet streaming audio portal TuneIn has created a temporary “station” to air excerpts of the Bumbershoot: Seattle’s Music & Arts Festival, taking place this weekend, Sept 1–3, in Seattle.
Appropriately labeled Bumbershoot Radio, the station is up and playing the music of scheduled acts. Once the festival starts it will carry select live performances along with additional material such as artist interviews.
Local station and Bumbershoot festival co-sponsor KEXP(FM) is providing much of the material for TuneIn. KEXP is also a TuneIn station.
The festival features music, arts, drama and “stuff.” Scheduled acts range from pop to Jazz to classical and a lot in between. Noted acts expected include Jane’s Addiction, Keane and Tony Bennett. There might be some other surprises.
The Bumbershoot station will remain active for a few days after the show, according to TuneIn.
