TuneIn’s “March Madness”

Streamer will stream Westwood One coverage of tournament

Audio streamer TuneIn will team up with Westwood One to stream WWO’s live audio coverage of every 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship. Coverage will start on Sunday, AKA, “Selection Sunday,” and continue through to the National Championship, April 6.

Sports fans can also listen for free via the TuneIn Radio app (iOS, Android, Windows Phone) or through more than 200 connected devices.

Also, this year TuneIn has created the first interactive listening bracket, which will go live March 17.

The streamer says that this college basketball tournament generated 1.2 million listening hours in 2014 during the course of March Madness. The second round clocked in with 115,470 hours of listening, but the most popular game by listening hours was, of course, the NCAA Championship game with 92,587 hours.

The most listening by state ranked California highest, with more than 109,407 listening hours and 185,057 unique listeners; followed by Florida with more than 79,726 listening hours and 135,790 unique listeners; then New York with more than 83,118 listening hours and 139,177 unique listeners.
