Twitter has enabled an audio feature.
Product Manager Richard Slatter says with one tap, users can start the audio stream and listen to that audio in their timeline on both iOS and Android devices. They can see the accompanying content and art, and minimize that without interrupting the audio stream.
By docking the Twitter “Audio Card,” users can keep listening and continue to browse the Twitter app.
The company is launching the audio card in a partnership with third-party streaming services.
The first partner is SoundCloud, whose partners include podcasts, music and other content from: @White House, @NASA, @NPR, @glennbeck, @planetmoney and @bbcworldservice, among others.
