Two Changes at Cumulus in the Northeast

Danbury, Conn., Hudson Valley get new VP/market managers

Cumulus Media, much in the news lately with its acquisition of Citadel Broadcasting, announced two appointments.

Stu Gorlick is the new VP/market manager for the Danbury, Conn. market. WRKI(FM), WDBY(FM), WINE(AM) and WPUT(FM) make up that market. He was previously VP of Sales for the company’s Hudson Valley group. Gorlick, hired in April of 2010, was with Cox Radio for seven years and also at WFAN(AM) in New York City.

Aaron Hyland will move to the Hudson Valley as the new VP and market manager. That group consists of WPDH(FM), WPDA(FM), WRRV(FM), WRRB(FM), WKXP(FM), WZAD(FM), WCZX(FM), WEOK(AM), WALL(AM) and WKNY(AM). Hyland was previously VP and market manager for Cumulus’ Fort Walton Beach, Fla. cluster. Hyland was with Clear Channel Radio in St. Louis before joining Cumulus.

Both Gorlick and Hyland have spent time in the Northeast. Cumulus Media Northeast Regional Vice President Chuck Bortnick said: “Aaron has done a spectacular job for the company in Fort Walton and we are very fortunate that being a native of the area, he was interested in this opportunity to join the Cumulus Northeast team… Stu has worked side by side with me to help grow the Cumulus Hudson Valley stations and based on his Connecticut station experience he brings tremendous value in being our leader in Danbury.”
