U.K. Religious Broadcaster Wins Right to Appeal

Advert on Premier Christian Radio was banned for being ‘political’ during an election season

Perhaps John Milton isn’t dead after all …

The National Religious Broadcasters MediaSource newsletter calls attention to a case of a Christian station in England.

Premier Christian Radio was barred from running an advertisement because the radio advertising oversight board, the Radio Advertising Clearance Centre, declared the ad “political” and said it could not be aired during a window near a general election.

The station protested that the ad was not political, but lost in court. However, the court has now cleared the way for an appeal by the station.

Here is a link to a story at The Christian Institute in the U.K. on the successful appeal to appeal. Links off of it can provide a bipartisan background.
