Unique Interactive, Harris Co-Launch DATAplus

Unique Interactive’s ManDLS digital radio display text manager made its U.S. debut at NAB, as the Harris Flexstar DATAplus application.
ManDLS is in use by U.K. digital radio broadcasters, the suppliers said. It supports HD Radio and FM RBDS, as well as the DAB and DVB-T platforms. It includes features aimed at the U.S. market.
Unique Interactive said it formed an alliance with Harris last year to integrate its Display Text system into the HD Radio Flexstar product line. Under the terms of the three-year deal, Harris now offers a branded version of ManDLS 3 known as DATAplus to HD Radio customers.
Flexstar DATAplus helps broadcasters manage dynamic text for display on HD Radio and RBDS receivers. The system links with playout systems for track and artist data, as well as information databases for traffic and travel, news, sports and weather. Additionally, the software eases management of sales and promotional messaging.
