United Stations Extends With Tony and Kris

Syndicator strikes new multiyear deal with country duo

United Stations Radio Networks has renewed its arrangement to distribute “The Tony and Kris Show.”

The deal extends a relationship that began in June of 2010, and constitutes a multi-year agreement for the independent distributor of original network radio programming distributor with the country morning show.

Tony Randall and Kris Rochester are represented by Paul Anderson’s Workhouse Media, and United Stations EVP of Programming Andy Denemark made the announcement.

Tony and Kris first met and launched their careers together at WHMA(FM) in Anniston, Ala., but they became best known for their 10-year run at KSON(FM) in San Diego from 1993 until 2003. In addition to an ACM Award for Major Market Broadcast Personalities of the Year during their stint at KSON, Tony and Kris were also nominated in the same category by the CMA Awards committee. After moving to Nashville, Tony and Kris formed a production company and partnered with United Stations to build out the Tony and Kris network.

Starting in the fall of 2011, USRN and the on-air pair began providing voice tracks lifted from the daily “Tony and Kris in the Morning Show” for stations seeking strong personalities in other time slots; their former flagship KSON airs the duo in the evenings. Tony and Kris are now heard daily on over two-dozen affiliates across the United States.
