Just how many radio stations are there in the United States? The FCC is out with the latest answer to that frequent question.
As of March, there were just over 4,800 AMs, 6,000 commercial FMs and 2,400 noncom FMs, for a total of 13,200. There were about 3,800 FM translators and boosters.
