Verhoeven Dies of Surgery Complications

The global CEO of NRS Media was 50 years old

Marc Verhoeven, CEO of Australia-based radio advertising sales and training firm NRS Media, passed away following complications during surgery on 19 August. He was 50 years old.

According to a statement from his family, Verhoeven underwent shoulder reconstruction surgery on 15 August, but never regained consciousness. He was kept on life support until 19 August at which time his organs were donated for use in an organ donor program per his wishes.

Verhoeven became worldwide CEO for NRS Media in 2003. Prior to that he was an area manager for CanWest Radio and general manager at The Breeze in Wellington, New Zealand.

Verhoeven was also known for his time as a lock with the Wellington Rugby Football Union in the 1980s and 1990s, including a turn captaining the team in the National Provincial Championship.
