One beneficiary of radio’s transition to digital will be V-Soft Communications.
The company’s president Doug Vernier was chosen by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to provide technical consultation and management for the CPB IBOC Seed Market Program.
“This program is designed to provide qualifying public radio stations in 13 of the nation’s top radio markets with matching funds to convert to HD,” the organizations stated.
CPB is working with Ibiquity Digital and NPR on this project, initially funded for $3.5 million. Forty-two FM and three AM stations have been identified by CPB as potential applicants for the funds.
