Perhaps not quite as anticipated as the Pirelli calendar but appealing to international broadcast buffs, the Voice of America 2009 calendar is available.
Highlighting the life stories of select VOA on-air personnel and staffers, the calendar looks at staffers hailing from Afghanistan, Burma, Haiti, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Rwanda, Tibet, Tunisia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
Stories could best be described as how the person struggled to escape an oppressive situation and made their way to the United States — often in a very roundabout way.
