Voice of America is offering public tours of its studios on Independence Ave., a short distance from the U.S. Capitol.
“Experience the excitement of live television and radio and get a rare glimpse into the hub of U.S. international broadcasting,” VOA says in its promotional material. “Every day the Voice of America reaches millions of people around the world, providing accurate and objective news and information on radio, television, and the Internet. We also tell the day-to-day story of the United States – who Americans are and what we believe in – and we do it in 44 languages.”
The tours are weekdays at noon and 3 p.m. The guided audio-visual tours last 45 minutes. Reservations are recommended.
