It appears XM Satellite Radio and some of its manufacturing partners are issuing a battery recall for some XM products. According to a link on the XM Web site, the company says it’s responding to reports of battery failures and is voluntarily recalling the batteries in the Delphi MyFi, Pioneer AirWare and Tao XM2Go satellite radios.
“Malfunctioning batteries can overheat and, in some cases, melt or possibly present a burn hazard,” states XM in letters accompanying packages of new batteries shipped to purchasers of the affected products.
