Volvo is offering HD Radio as standard equipment for most models in the coming 2009 model year.
Remaining models will offer HD-R as a factory-installed option.
The 2009 models to offer HD standard include S40 T5, V50 T5, C30, C70, S80, V70, XC70 and XC90. Volvo plans to have the vehicles ready next fall. Pricing for optional receivers wasn’t announced.
Volvo joins Ford, BMW, MINI USA, Jaguar and Hyundai in offering HD Radio, although Ford says it’s the first to offer HD-R as a standard factory-installed option across nearly all of its product line.
