Belgian broadcaster chooses archive specialist for digital music archive

Vlaamse Radio en Televisieomroep (VRT), a Flemish language radio and TV broadcaster in Belgium, has chosen NOA Audio Solutions’ mediARC system for a massive CD transfer project.

The ultimate goal is to transfer more than 150,000 CDs into a digital music archive and database for use in things such as automation playout.

VRT will be using 10 mediARC clients along with NOA’s ediaButler transcoding and IngestLine CD Lector CD data ingest devices.

For its part, NOA Audio Solutions said that it learned some real-world lessons concerning the VRT job requirement and that the lessons will improve the mediARC system.

Tom Caljon is project manager for VRT.

Details of the project are here.
