RF engineering and propagation software developer V-Soft has announced an update to its AM-Pro 2 AM mapping and frequency search program.
The company calls it an “AM revitalization” upgrade. A release explains: “Using a simple check box, studies can be run with the current rules or the newly proposed rules. For daytime allocation studies, proposed D/U ratios and protected contour levels can be examined automatically, i.e. without user intervention.”
It adds: “For nighttime allocation work, the new protection ratios (for first adjacent) and the 50% RSS exclusion method can be used and the “ratchet rule” power reductions are now gone. These changes allow users to easily compare and examine improvement possibilities under the AM revitalization proposed rules.”
Current AM-Pro 2 users with a tech support contract will receive the free update in the next automatic update package.
