Want to Reclaim Part of Your Consumer Electronics’ Heritage?

Read about the birth, golden age and demise of boomboxes

Wonder where to find old boomboxes and reclaim part of your consumer electronics’ heritage?

Here, at the pocketcalculatorshow.com, you can find another one to add to your collection.

The site is the brainchild of Jay and Paul, two guys who used to host a radio show on collectible consumer electronics from the 1970s and 1980s on shortwave station WBCQ, and who now focus their efforts on this site.

Thanks to editorial director Carter Ross for this tidbit. His old boomboxes are the Electro Ranger at the bottom of page 3 of the Golden Age section and the RadioShack SCR-6 on the same page.

I must admit I remember using the Marantz Superscope at one of the stations I worked at, seen here at the top of the first “Boombox Birth” page.
