The Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Foundation has created an educational support grant program. The program assists broadcast education programs at Wisconsin colleges, universities and technical institutions in purchasing teaching materials such as hardware, software and equipment.
The foundation board has voted to provide up to $10,000 each year for one or more grants. The first grant was approved for $3,500 to Professor Mark Tolstedt of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for the purchase of hardware to operate PC-based production, post-production, hard-disc music management and traffic and billing software for the campus radio station.
Grants for use in 2001 will be awarded at the 2001 awards banquet during the WBA Winter Convention in January 2001.
