Just three weeks after WBUR(FM), Boston GM Jane Christo announced the Boston University-owned station group was putting up two Rhode Island stations on the block, she has resigned amid questions of financial mismanagement. The Boston Globe reports after the sale was announced, the Rhode Island attorney general ordered WBUR to turn over financial records for WRNI(AM) and WXNI(AM).
Christo, who has run WBUR for 25 years, is due to leave this Friday and an interim GM would probably be named, according to the Globe.
In a statement, Christo said the controversy had become “too large a distraction.”
