Westwood One has reached a management agreement with Excelsior Radio Networks for the operation of the Westwood One 24/7 music formats.
“Under the agreement, Excelsior Radio Networks, through its Dial Communications – Global Media, will assume responsibility for affiliate sales and programming of the Westwood One 24/7 music formats effective Aug. 1, 2006, and oversight of all aspects of the formats — including advertising sales — effective Jan. 1, 2007,” they announced.
Excelsior Radio Networks owns Dial Communications-Global Media, MJI Interactive and X Radio. Syndicator Westwood One is managed by CBS Radio.
Westwood One officials say the agreement will let them focus on other programming and new media initiatives. Its music formats operate out of Valencia, Calif. They are eight music formats plus daypart programs like “Saturday Night All Request 80s” and “Young & Verna.”
