Veterans Day is becoming an increasingly bigger production. Nothing says that more than the increased involvement of major sports with veterans salutes.

On Monday, Westwood One’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast will air its pregame and halftime shows from the U.S.S. America, a newly commissioned amphibious assault ship, currently docked in San Diego. Host Jim Gray will be joined by Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson along with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald. The game itself, Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles, will be played in Philadelphia.

At the end of the week on Friday, Westwood One will air the inaugural Quicken Loans Veterans Classic from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. The college basketball doubleheader will involve the University of Tennessee against Virginia Commonwealth University and Michigan State against Navy.
