Publish date:

Fordham University’s WFUV(FM) will be part of a public radio group streaming live acts from the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, later this week.

The show will air on Friday, starting at 1 p.m. ET. The SXSW features a number of new and undiscovered bands.

WFUV Program Director Rita Houston said, “We were blown away by the success of our Day Stage last year … It really made a statement about the power of public radio in breaking artists.”

She added, “I’m particularly proud that three of the artists [this year] … are from New York and that we can share them with the world.”

Teaming up with WFUV are WXPN(FM), Philadelphia, The Current, Minnesota Public Radio, Minneapolis, KXT(FM), Dallas and home club, KUXT, Austin.

WFUV Pumps Up the Music Via HD2

Starting this weekend, the station said it will expand its weekday music content to a full-time service it calls FUV 24/7 and which will be available seven days a week as a channel on its Web site and via HD Radios.
