WGAC Wins Best Georgia Station Honor

Beasley Broadcast Group.’s WGAC(AM, a news-talk station in Augusta, recently won two Gabby awards for excellence among Georgia broadcasters. The honors are the sixth and seventh Gabbys for the station over four years.
WGAC won a Gabby for Georgia Radio Station of the Year for the market size of 100,000 to 1 million, and another for Best Newscast in that market size. The Radio Station of the Year award is judged on community involvement, programming and overall image. The newscast award was for the station’s July 11, 2002 broadcast by News Director Mary Liz Nolan. According to the station, it has the largest radio news team in the city with four reporters and staffers.
