For the first time, a female public radio executive will head the Radio Television Digital News Association.
Amy Tardif, news director for WGCU(FM), Fort Myers, Fla., is the chair-elect to head the association in 2013–14, according to the Fort Myers News-Press. She was elected by her peers at the association’s annual meeting this week.
According to WGCU, Tardif has been the station’s news director 12 years and has won numbers local, state, regional and national awards for reporting, including a Peabody award in 2011.
