WGN(AM)’s WGWG-The Game, a low-power FM sports station in Chicago, is hitting the big screen with a deal to simulcast the stations “Kap & Haugh” morning show on Comcast SportsNet Chicago cable TV operation.
Three of the show’s four hours will be video-fed, 9 a.m.–noon. Comcast SportsNet Chicago carries Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs and White Sox games.
WGN Radio President and General Manager Jimmy de Castro said, “Combining the ‘Kap & Haugh’ radio broadcast with the TV powerhouse Comcast SportsNet is another piece that fits in our puzzle to bring a complete media experience to the Chicago sports fan.”
WGN is pushing WGWG as a multimedia experience. It describes it as a 360-degree brand experience in audio, video and social media.
