The President has submitted a budget to Congress that proposes fiscal year 2005 funding for the FCC of nearly $293 million. That would cover mandatory increases for salaries and benefits and inflationary increases for office space rental, supplies, printing, postage and contractual services. The budget level also includes funds replacement monitoring vehicles; technical monitoring and test equipment to ensure the commission has tools to achieve the agency’s spectrum and Homeland Security initiatives.
