Wichita Broadcast Group to Hold Career Webcast

Member stations seek applicants for promotions, advertising and programming positions

The Wichita Operations division of the Journal Broadcast Group is trying to do something about the unemployment rate by holding a live webcast to promote employment opportunities within the six member stations.

Careers in Radio, produced with support from Periscope Digital Media, will stream live, July 28 from 12:30 – 1 p.m. CDT, simultaneously from the websites of all six stations: KLIO(AM), KFDI(FM), KICT(FM), KYQQ(FM), KFXJ(FM) and KFTI(FM).

The show will be hosted by Journal Broadcast Group – Wichita Operations Vice President and General Manager Eric McCart and feature interviews with station staffers as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day operations.

According to McCart, the goal of Careers in Radio is to attract talent who wouldn’t otherwise seek a career in the radio industry. Finding just the right candidate for the availabilities at hand in promotions, advertising and programming.
