WideOrbit Reports 1,000 Stations on WO Traffic

Product was first installed in radio in 2004

WideOrbit said approximately 1,000 radio stations are now using its WO Traffic system.

The San Francisco-based manufacturer of advertising management software said WO Traffic for Radio was first installed commercially in March 2004. “Entercom Communications became an early adopter partner and was the first radio station to go live on a WO Traffic system specifically customized for radio in December 2005,” it stated in its announcement.

“Today, Entercom has more than 100 stations in 23 markets live on an integrated WideOrbit solution that includes WO Traffic, WO CRM, a comprehensive account management system and WO Analytics, a dynamic, turnkey, business analytics solution.”

Among other notable users, WideOrbit lists Midwest Communications, with 62 stations in 14 markets, and Salem Communications, with 99 stations.

The installed base for WO Traffic passed 1,000 when Salem stations WDTK(AM) and WLQV(AM) in Detroit both went live Aug. 1. According to WideOrbit, Salem is in the process of rolling out WO Traffic to all of its 99 stations and plans to complete that 18-month process when its San Antonio and Columbus, Ohio, markets are done this year.
