Window Opens for CPB Digital Conversion Funding

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has opened up another window to apply for radio digital conversion grants. CPB has approved $13 million to fund the fiscal 2006 Digital Radio Conversion fund.
The funding levels for individual grants are unchanged from the previous grant rounds. A CPB-qualified licensee may apply for a grant of up to $75,000 per transmitter converted, but the total grant may not exceed 70 percent of the total eligible digital conversion cost. Minority and rural stations may apply for a grant of up to $85,000 per transmitter converted, but the total grant may not exceed 80 percent of the total eligible digital conversion cost.
The deadline to apply is May 26.
