Greater Media’s WLNK(FM) in Charlotte, N.C. has signed on with mobile media provider AirKast to create a mobile media feed for the station.
The package includes branded apps such as customized players, ads and special online content such as interactive contests. Using AirKast’s AirBridge mobile content delivery vehicle the station is now available on iPhone and BlackBerry platforms.
Jonathan Mauney, interactive director, Greater Media Charlotte said AirKast’s integration with Ando Media for targeted ad insertion was one factor in the selection.
“By untethering our online listeners from their desktop computers, we give them the ability to truly listen wherever and whenever they want through live mobile streaming and mobile on-demand.”
AirKast CEO Larry Leung said the station “can now offer all types of unique content” including loyalty programs for listeners and video spots for advertisers.
