A Kentucky AM faces a $10,000 fine in a public file case.
The Chicago Office of the FCC Enforcement Bureau issued the notice of apparent liability to Meade County Communications Inc. and station WMMG, in Brandenburg, Ky.
The FCC said its agent visited in August of 2010 and found that the file was missing 24 quarters of issues/programs lists.
“Station staff was able to locate several documents that they claimed reflected local issues that were addressed in their programming, but those documents were not in the public inspection file and were not in the format required by the Commission’s Rules,” the FCC wrote.
The bureau also told the station to submit a written statement under penalty of perjury stating that it is now in compliance with the relevant rules.
