WNNK Has Interleaved Dielectric Antenna

Dielectric Communications said its HDR Series Interleaved Antenna System was installed at WNNK(FM) in Harrisburg, Pa.
The antenna permit simultaneous transmission of analog and HD radio signals from the same antenna aperture.
The station chief is Dave Supplee; in the announcement from Dielectric, he stated that “Our spectrum analyzer showed that where multipath conditions reduced the analog signal level substantially, the digital signal level was affected minimally. In many instances, the low-power digital displayed actual signal strength comparable to that of the high-power analog signal without any sign of interference.”
In the HDR Series, a reverse polarization technique maximizes isolation between the analog and digital signals. For WNNK the separation was enhanced with the use of a low-power isolator.
