David Wood, deputy director of technology and development for the European Broadcast Union, will be awarded a Distinguished Service Award at the upcoming annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Broadcast Union in New Dehli, Nov. 2–8.
Wood will receive his award on Nov. 3 at the ABU Technical Committee meeting.
He is the chair of the ITU-R Working Party 6, developer of standards and guidance for digital TV and HDTV.
Wood also chairs the European High Definition Forum. In addition he has authored numerous technical papers, articles and book chapters.
