World Cup to Be Heard on FM in L.A.

Entravision will broadcast World Cup soccer games for the first time on an FM radio frequency in Los Angeles on KLYY(FM).
The company said it will also air World Cup games on its stations KQRT(FM) in Las Vegas, KZMP(FM) in Dallas and KSVE(AM) serving El Paso. Coverage begins airing June 9 and will continue through the final game on July 9.
Entravision Radio President Jeffery Liberman called the announcement a “milestone” for the city of Los Angeles and for the station. The company said it has numerous national and local sponsors including McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Home Depot, Budweiser, Best Buy, Verizon Wireless and others. Broadcasting rights were made available through Futbol de Primera on an exclusive basis in each market. Terms were not disclosed.
