WorldDAB Auto UX Group Sets Direction

Will work on defining UX terminology and minimum user experience requirements

Following the first meeting of the WorldDAB Auto UX Group in June, the organization has laid out its initial areas of focus. Over the next month, the group will focus on defining UX terminology and minimum user experience requirements.

The names of specific features and functions for in-car digital radios often varied depending on automotive OEM, radio manufacturer or region. Thus, the group decided that it would develop a list of UX terminology as the basis for agreeing standard terms.

The other task is to set minimum user experience requirements for DAB in the car to provide guidance for broadcasters and manufacturers to ensure radio is easy to use with the user interface.

The WorldDAB Auto UX Group’s goal is to assist in improving the user interface and user experience for in-car digital radios, while also understanding how future technology and trends will impact design. The group is led by Laurence Harrison from Digital Radio UK.
