This year’s ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium will feature a DAB+ Digital Radio Workshop from WorldDAB, which will host a number of speakers and sessions that look to highlight DAB+ in a multiplatform world.

A group of speakers have been announced from Asia Pacific and Europe to share best practices and case studies.

Speakers include Dave Cameron, general manager at Southern Cross Austereo; Joan Warner, vice president and Asia Pacific chair of the WorldDAB and CEO of Commercial Radio Australia; Lindsay Cornell, chair of WorldDAB’s Technical Committee and principal systems architect, BBC; Les Sabel from WorldDAB and Commercial Radio Australia; Bernie O’Neill, project director at WorldDAB; Ben Poor, project manager and the European Broadcasting Union; Nick Piggott, project director at RadioDNS; and Jørn Jensen, senior adviser at NRK.

The rest of the workshop will consist of sessions offering discussions on different aspects of digital radio. The key discussion points and findings will be published and shared with all participants.

The WorldDAB workshop is free to attend and will take place March 5 from 2 to 5 p.m. The 2018 ABU DBS will take place from March 6–8 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
