WorldDMB has organized a free one-day workshop about the implementation of DAB+ in collaboration with the Turkish Radio and Television Corp., RATEM (Professional Union of Broadcasting Organizations), RTÜK Radyo ve Televizyon Üst Kurulu (Radio and Television Supreme Council) and iTVF — Istanbul TV Forum and Fair.
The workshop will be held June 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Halic Congress Centre in Istanbul. It will provide an opportunity to discuss digital radio developments worldwide prior to Turkey’s analog terrestrial TV switchoff date in 2015 (releasing potential spectrum for digital radio), as well as industry case studies.
The event will cover topics including the state of the Turkish radio industry, marketing DAB+ to the listener, technical considerations for network and coverage planning, the business case for DAB+, regulatory framework and switchover plan updates.
Scheduled speakers include Patrick Hannon, president of WorldDMB and vice president Corporate Development at Frontier Silicon; Ole Jorgen Torvmark, CEO of Digital Radio Norway; and Christian Wachter of Rohde & Schwarz.
