WPID Fined $10,000 For Antenna Violation

The FCC fined Piedmont Radio Co., licensee of WPID(AM), Piedmont, Ala., $10,000 for not registering its antenna and tower, and not maintaining a presence at the station’s main studio during business hours. The FCC stated the station did not respond to the original fine, levied in October, so now, the commission is reaffirming the penalty. The station has 30 days to pay up or explain why the fine should be reduced or cancelled.
