Beasley Broadcast station WQAM(AM), a sports station in Miami, has signed an extension to remain the University of Miami’s flagship sports station.
The agreement runs through the 2016–2017 season. The station began its relationship with the university in the 1999–2000 season. The deal includes football, men’s basketball, some baseball games along with a coaches’ show with WQAM personality Joe Zagacki.
All parties expressed satisfaction with the extension in a release. Beasley Broadcast’s VP and Miami market manager Joe Bell said, “UM sports have been a huge part of WQAM for over a decade and we’re excited to continue that relationship.”
