Cox Media is using the CBS Outdoor division to promote itself in Louisville.
WQNU(FM) — “New Country 103.1” — is featured on a digital billboard on Interstate 65 that shows what songs are being played on the station.
The billboard is on the grounds of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center. Station Chief Engineer Greg Hahn said WQNU’s “now playing” data is sent over company intranet to Cox Digital, where the information is converted to an RSS feed. CBS Outdoor links to the RSS.
The deal was announced by Mike Sheehy, sales manager, CBS Outdoor/Louisville, and Shane Collins, Cox Media Group Louisville’s operations manager.
CBS Outdoor is expanding its use of electronic LED billboards (the company calls the signs “unavoidable” in its marketing).
