WSJ on Satellite Radio

The Wall Street Journal loves satellite radio; Walter Mossberg has mixed feelings.
Reviewers from the paper named Sony and Pioneer radios for receiving XM Satellite as picks among high-tech car gadgets as part of its “Gizmos by the Carload” article.
The story reviewed in-vehicle entertainment and “information products and services that are available now, or are coming early this year – and what we’d consider putting in our own dash.”
Columnist Walter Mossberg, however, gave XM Satellite mixed reviews last week. He called it an artistic success but said the expense is substantial and that CDs are still a better way to listen to audio. His column asked, “Why would you want to pay hundreds of dollars for a special radio and $10 a month to listen to music programmed by somebody else?”
