WTOP Wins Major-Market, News Marconis

Legendary Station of the Year: WBZ

Bonneville news outlet WTOP(FM) is the major-market station of the year in the NAB’s 2010 Marconi Radio Awards.

The winners were announced at the Radio Show in Washington Thursday evening. Marconis salute excellence in radio.

The legendary station of the year is WBZ(AM) in Boston. Scott Shannon was named network/syndicated personality of the year.

The large-market station of the year is KSTP(FM) in Minneapolis; medium-market, KKOB(AM) in Albuquerque; small-market, KFGO(AM) in Fargo, N.D.

Awards went to Ronn Owens, Doug Wright, Kelly Mac and Leo Greco for major-, large-, medium- and small-market personality of the year respectively. Spanish format personality winner was Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo.
